if you can’t win the mind game that goes with it. The problem starts with being told that you must have self control or be disciplined. Then you have to do this for the rest of your life. Who can, or wants to live like that?

To make things worse, some people believe they are not disciplined enough to stick to any kind of diet so they never start. You might have been told that you have a slow metabolism so you lose hope. If any of these describe you - then you should also be aware there is help for you.

It is not your fault that losing weight is hard. We are constantly bombarded with images and smells of fast food. Many foods, even so-called health foods, are filled with chemicals that actually create addictions and cause you to store fat. Trans fats and high fructose corn syrup are only two popular food additives that have these effects. Read labels and you will see a lot of things you don’t recognize. But here’s the good news…

Your can speed up your metabolism, and you can achieve a level of self-control to help you through difficult times. You can eliminate food cravings and after an initial “cleansing” period, you will not have to have such strong will power because you will naturally adjust to a new way of eating.

That’s right - when you start eating healthier with a weight loss program, you will eventually lose the taste for the junk foods that you have cut out. When you do eat junk food, you will feel how tired, or cranky, or bloated it actually makes you feel. You didn’t feel these effects before because you were used to it. But after being on a healthy eating regimen for a period of time, you get healthier and you can feel how junk food affects you. This factor also helps you to stay on your healthy eating path.

However, you must take the first step. It may seem easy to start, but many weight loss programs are hard to stay on. It seems no one can bypass this aspect of weight loss. There will come a time when it becomes difficult. It is now that it becomes important for you to win this part of the challenge. Here are some tips to help you get through these hard times.

Tip 1 - Buy a workout CD and use it each morning. If you can’t do the whole thing, at least watch it - it can be very motivating. The next day watch it and do just the warm up. The next day vow to do 20 minutes. It will get easier as you get more fit.

Tip 2 - Purchase a diet book. These are good motivators. They help reinforce why you should lose weight, and usually will explain why their way works. Some even have before and after pictures that are very motivating. Most books are good and do work - remember there are many paths to weight loss. So choose one that you will enjoy reading.

Tip 3 - Join a gym or health club. This is a good place to go with friends and exercise. Many gyms have racquetball courts and even juice bars. Gyms or health clubs can be great places to hang out instead of a night club or bar.

Tip 4 - Visualize your goals. Top athletes do this before workouts and before competitions. They visualize the results they want. They do this because it is a proven system that works. Many times we give up because we believe we could never reach a goal. Visualizing your goals makes them more real, therefore more attainable. The key to getting results is consistency (you must do it every day) and using the right technique.

It does take practice to sit quietly and think about your goals. During this time you have to attempt to use all five of your senses in the visualization. See what you want, feel what you are doing, smell the room you are in, taste something like gum, hear what is going on around you. Practice this each day and it will get easier.

Tip 5 - Make a plan. Plan which weight loss program you will use. Then plan your meals and write them down. Plan your grocery list and stick to it. Plan what extras you will use to enhance your weight loss goals, such as exercise or visualization. Write out a schedule so you don’t use “not enough time” as an excuse. Make your plan in writing and stick to it for a better chance at success.

Losing weight can be a challenge. Be sure you are eating healthy, don’t try to lose too much at once or it will backfire on you, and try one or two of these tips. They can be a great asset so you can win the weight loss mind game.

Health insurance can help you pay for your medical treatments, doctor visits, and prescriptions. Medical expenses can cause you financial hardship when you get seriously injured or ill. You really cannot afford not to have health insurance whichever way you have to get it.

Whether it is a very expensive surgery or just an office visit it pays to have this insurance. A personal health insurance plan is a policy that covers you health-wise in the event you need it. You pay personally for this instead of getting help from an employer. There is a range of plans to choose from.

Some of you think you cannot afford a personal health insurance plan. But with all the options available today you just may be surprised. Depending on whether it is a HMO or PPO and the deductible amounts, you will see that at least one plan will fit your budget. The truth is that you cannot afford NOT to have personal health insurance, especially considering the sky-high cost of medical care these days.

HMOs are the cheapest of the personal health insurance. The drawback to these is the fact that you have to go to the doctor the insurance company says. Also the types of diagnostic tests may be tightly controlled. Some of you may need more flexibility than these plans.

PPO plans allow you to choose your own doctors. They are more liberal on what diagnostic tests are given. This makes them more desirable if you can afford their prices, since a personal health insurance PPO plan is more expensive than its HMO equivalent. PPO plans are popular with people who have had their doctor for years and would rather not change.

Now you can choose your coverage to a certain extent. If you are going to need maternity coverage, make sure that is included, since it may not be included by default. Vision and dental insurance can be added on, but they are pricey on personal plans. Some plans pay some towards office visits to where you only have to pay $10 to $40 to go to the doctor. Usually the personal health insurance plans pay for 70% to 100% on emergency rooms care. In-office procedures sometimes you have to have your deductible paid if you have one before the insurance will pay.

You can decrease the costs and monthly premiums of both HMO and PPO personal health insurance by having a deductible. Usually deductibles start at $250 and go up to at least $10,000 a year. The more you have to pay out on a deductible, the lower the premiums on the plans are. This deductible has to be met before the insurance will pay 70% to 100% for the remainder of the year´s expenses as laid out in your plan.

Be sure to check into personal health insurance today and see what plan you can afford or fit into your budget. You cannot assume you will always be healthy, and a major illness could wipe you out if you do not have health insurance to cover the majority of the cost.

I’ve taken all kinds of supplements, tried many healing methods – mainstream and alternative. And most of all I’ve spent tones of money in the process. Fortunately better health does not have to mean you have do the same. What if I told you that by following six very simple suggestions many of you could improve your health? Well without furher delay, let’s get started.

Drinking an adequate amount of water

Probably the most overlooked thing by many people is drinking adequate amounts of water. And even those who do make a commitment to drinking more water still are not probably drink enough.

I wonder how many doctors ask their patients how much water they’re drinking when they present with a problem in their office, unless it’s probably an obvious hydration issue. Fereydoon Batmanghelidj, M.D., a medical doctor, who really has done an abundance of research on drinking adequate amounts of water, suggests that a good rule of thumb is that for every pound of body weight, we should consume an ounce of water. That is, if you weight 200 pounds then you should consume 100 ounces of water. When you realize this, you realize many people are not consuming enough water. Also one should consume this amount gradually throughout the day.

When I started increasing my intake of water, I started feeling more energy and eating less. Many people who are in a much worse position may soon realize even more benefits if they start increasing their water intake to a healthy amount as suggested by Dr. Batmanghelidj.

Buy quality supplements

If you’re not taking a quality multivitamin and mineral supplement then it’s time to do so. While many people are taking supplements they often make some common mistakes, for instance getting cheaper vitamins and minerals. This might seem an attractive option as it means spending less but it ends up costing more in the end. Generally the cheaper the supplement, the more additives exist that actually affect how much one can absorb from a supplement. Two examples are binders and fillers. These substances do a number of things: they stop substances from caking together, they are used as fillers, and they help bind substances together. They may serve a purpose but their overuse does not. Also, you may notice that some brands contain vast quantities of a particular vitamin or mineral, for instance vitamin c. A higher quality brand might contain 250 mg of vitamin c, while a cheaper one contains 500 mg. However, given that the cheaper (and lower quality) brands have a much lower absorption; the extra amount is going to do you much good anyway. You are better off to go for the higher quality brands that have a better absorption. Over time by looking at brands and reading labels, you will get a sense of the higher quality brands.

Omega 3 Fatty Acids

A really beneficial supplement can be found in the form of pharmaceutical grade fish oil. While other sources of omega-3 fatty acids exist, the most highly recommend is omega 3 fish oil. Another type of omega 3 fatty acids is flax oil but because fish oil already exists in a form that the body can use and flax oil doesn’t, it means that flax oil first needs to be broken down by the body can use it. This is not the case with fish oil. Also, not everyone can break these forms down. Another thing to note: you should use pharmaceutical grade fish oil because “pharmaceutical grade” means the fish oil has gone through a purification process to remove the many impurities that are found in the ocean. You have probably heard all the talk about mercury in fish. Well if you are getting high doses of fish oil, the last thing you want is to be getting high doses of mercury! So go for pharmaceutical grade.

Exercise

This one is obvious. When we exercise we help raise our metabolism to a healthy rate, as opposed to being more sedentary. Also there are emotional benefits. Studies have shown that even walking can help stimulate the brain to produce neurochemicals that can improve mood and lessen pain. It is also important to do some more strenuous exercises like weights, etc., which can help stimulate the natural production of growth hormones that can help retard the effects of aging.

Some form of Stress reduction

More and more research is linking stress to many disorders, not just emotional ones but physical as well. Whether you like to meditate or simply perform any other stress reduction, it is very important that you do something in this regard. Some ideas include visulualization exercises, hypnosis, as mentioned meditation, or really anything that helps you relax.

Proper Rest

Obviously it’s important to get enough sleep so that your body can rejuvenate itself. How often this simple fact is overlooked is fascinating. Most people generally need 6.5 – 8 hours per day.

Some of these suggestions might sound boring, but I believe they’re necessary to living a healthy life. Moreover trying them doesn’t mean shoveling out tonnes of money. Try implementing some of these suggestions for several weeks and see how you feel. The key is to implement these things into a daily regimen and your body will thank you for it.

As a little boy growing up in Harlem, NY, I had suffered from asthma all of my childhood. I was very active as a child and I loved to play all type of sports basketball, baseball, football, etc. If there was a game out there to play like most kids enjoy, I was in it and having so much fun. Then, there were the moments where it wasn’t so much fun. Like a lot of you may know playing hard a getting out of breath was just part of the activity, but for me getting out of breath was very serious.

Just imagine loosing your breath and staying that way and not being able to breathe normally for hours on end. Very scary! And the hard part of it was that you couldn’t fix it alone. I was rushed to hospitals and was given all types of medications to correct the shortness of breath. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone, and as a young boy you don’t really know what’s going on. All you want to do is be kid and play just like everyone else.

As I grew older and started to get an idea of what was happening to me, I always asked the question, how can I get rid of this? I still to this day ask that question a little bit differently, how do we get rid of this? I say that because as I grew older and my circle of influence broaden I’ve seen family members, close friends, and more and more people on the news not only suffering from asthma, but high blood pressure, high cholesterol, arthritis, diabetes, joint pain, and so much more. I made it a mission to find out how to rid our bodies from these diseases.

One of the ways that I found help so much was to take a serious look at what we are putting in our bodies. You know what they say, “garbage in-garbage out”. Through no fault of our own, we have to look back at the diets of our relative’s past. Most of the foods they ate, we have taken them on to share with our current generation. Let me ask you a question, weather you were raised on the farm or in the city, have you ever seen a cow eat another cow? Most of us have seen cows grazing on grass putting in the good stuff. Now how does that relate to us? Just look at the foods we eat, the fast food we can’t get enough of, Look at how the foods are preserved to last longer. Look at how long it takes for meat to digest in your system. This not what our bodies need. Our body needs Vitamins, Minerals, Nutrients, and Antioxidants. Sorry to say it’s not in the foods we eat! And if there is, it’s a very small amount.

Folks, we are literally starving our bodies and as much as I would love to have a microphone to tell the world how they should eat. I’d rather share with the world of what I have done to give my body all the Vitamins, Minerals, Nutrients and Antioxidants needed everyday so I can protect myself from preventive ailments.

My three steps to improving my health are:

Step 1: I got a physical examination where it was determined that I had high blood pressure in addition to my childhood illness of asthma. We now hear on the news that High Blood Pressure is the highest cause of heart disease in America today. You can improve your health with some effort.

Step 2: I took action. I started to educate myself on how to reduce sodium in my foods by checking the label which is easy to do. I also purchased a high blood pressure monitor for home use where I was able to start tracking my improvements.

Step 3: I manage to find out about a new breakthrough in nutritional supplements called Gelceuticals which made it easier, much more fun and tastier for me to get vitamins and minerals to be absorbed into my system faster. After exercising by stretching for a half-hour four nights a week and using the nutritional supplements my blood pressure came down to recommended normal levels.

Being a parent isn’t easy. After all, you are responsible for raising, instructing, and helping children as they work their way from an infant into adulthood. And even when they go off on their own, you still worry about them as they make their way through the world. Despite the fact that they move on into adulthood, you never stop being a parent and you want to make sure that they are doing okay. Unfortunately, this is easier said than done and it is not easy to let them go. Thus, you find yourself both trying to give them freedom and trying to hang on to them as they go out into the world.

The problem becomes one of both trying to keep a hold of your children and trying to let them be their own people. Thus, in order to allow you children to move on, you need to learn to let them go. That’s right, in order to ease parental stress, you need to learn how to be less of a parent. In fact, you need to learn how to let them make their own mistakes. This is very difficult, since you will have to watch them as they go through the process of growing up, largely without your help. This can be very difficult, since you will want to protect them from the world. But the world will show up sometime and you will need to let them learn to deal with it. Needless to say, this will only make parental stress worse for a while, since you will be essentially standing on the sidelines as they make errors that you could have warned them against. Just remember that it will do them good in the long run and they will be better for it.

However, this does not mean that you shouldn’t keep an eye on your children. Let’s face it, you are still a parent and you need to watch over your children. Trying to cope with parental stress will not be improved by being completely ignorant of your children. Instead, let them be themselves as you try to keep an eye on them. They will find their own way, even if you do not always enjoy the path that they have to go down to get there. Just allow them to be imperfect and they will learn what they need to know in the process.

But when the stress of child-raising gets to be too much, don’t be afraid to get help. There are plenty of support groups, books, and websites out there that want to help you through your parental stress. Don’t be afraid to give them a try, if for no other reason than to stay informed. Nobody said it was going to be easy, so try to keep your stress under control. Then, by keeping it under control, you can survive a lot of difficult situations and a lot of difficult years and prevent yourself from going crazy with worry.

Just remember that your children will, eventually, become rebellious and they will probably try to act in a way that may shock you. It is well-known that parental stress can be fairly severe during the teenage years, since teenagers are always eager to go their own way. And if that doesn’t increase parental stress, nothing will. You will often find yourself on the sideline, trying to figure out what is going on in their heads, but try to remember that you were their age once. Teenagers aren’t perfect. Neither are adults. Keep both of those items in mind and you may be able to keep your parental stress to a minimum.

No, parental stress is not easy. No, it is not simple to solve. No, there is no point where you can just let your children go completely. However, by managing your own parental stress, allowing your children to grow up, and understanding that your children need to make their own mistakes sometimes, you can keep your emotions under control and allow your children to be themselves. So, rather than allowing parental stress to take over your life, let parental stress take a backseat to keeping an eye on your children, making sure that they are doing fine, and enjoying the years when they are growing from youth to adulthood and beyond.

The Swedish and Ayurvedic massage both have very different origins and styles, but they still contribute a lot to achieve a healthy and relaxed body.

With so many different kinds of massage therapy programs available today, it has made it difficult for people to choose which one is for them

The Swedish Massage, which is often called the classic or traditional massage. This is the most common massage therapy method and it is what most people usually prefer. The long and flowing strokes characterize this method, and it is ideal for relaxing muscles, improving joint flexibility and aiding in better circulation.

The first stroke is known as effleurage, this involves a long gliding stroke from the neck down to the base of the spine or from the shoulder down to the fingertips. It is also done on the limbs with all strokes directed toward the heart to aid blood and lymphatic flow. A therapist would normally use there whole hand or a thumb pad to do this.

Next is petrissage, this consists of the gentle lifting of muscles, then rolling and squeezing them, while applying a gentle pressure. This helps to enhance deeper circulation, it also increases circulation which in turn eliminates toxins from muscle and nerve tissue.

The third technique friction, is the most forceful one and uses deep circular movements using fingertips. it is applied near bony areas and joints, it relaxes the muscle fiber which in turn enhances flexibility in muscles and joints.

Last of all, a therapist will use vibration or shaking, this would normally entail the pressing of hands on the back or limbs and shaking in a vigorous motion for a few moments. Again this is used to improve circulation and is beneficial to people with low-back pain.

The Ayurvedic massage originated from India and the aim of this method is to create harmony and balance within the individual. It is worth noting that this method is renown for removal of toxins and rejuvenation of the body.

Ayurvedic massage uses specific oils that suit your dosha. One such, is the Abhyanga-Garshana which comprises of skin brushing followed by an oil massage. Udwarthanam which is a slimming massage that uses herbal powders and the Ayurvedic foot massage which is a deep massage where the therapist uses his feet.

Now you have enough knowledge on both Swedish and Ayurvedic massage, it is up to you to choose between the two which best suits your style of relaxation. Remember both massages having unique qualities and techniques, the choosing part can be a little tricky though, so if you are still undecided why not try both?

Weight loss for the long term is one of those hard things to stay on top of. Many of us seem to have the yo-yo effect, gain weight, lose weight, gain weight, lose weight and it goes up and down with little weight loss for the long term and forever.

It was also found in this study that nine out of 10 of those who lost the weight long term did so with a blend of exercise and diet. This study included over 4,000 people who lost over 70 pounds and kept it off for over five years. These folks that lost weight for the long term shared at least four strategies.

If you want to have long term weight loss forever try to keep up a constant eating pattern. Try to eat the identical way on weekdays and weekends. If you are like me weekends were always the exception to my diets and I figured that I would just tighten the belt after the weekends. The research found that people who were regular about their diet were more likely to keep the weight off. The folks who have kept weight loss long term got active and remained active. A high level of physical activity united with a good diet goes a long way. Some of the most popular types of exercise are walking, cycling, weight lifting, and aerobics. A little line dancing can go a long way in keeping your weight off.

Eating a proper diet low in calories and bad fat helps to keep the weight off for the long term as well. Those who have successfully lost weight long term consumed an average of 1,800 calories per day with 24% of those calories coming from fat. Try not to eat out every day and stay away from those fast food places they pack on the fat! It is tough to control your calorie ingestion when you eat out all the time.

Finally, and this is important, don’t leave the house without breakfast if you want to have weight loss for the long term and forever. Eating breakfast boosts your metabolism, helping you burn more calories during the day. It also keeps you from over indulging later in the day.

I have reviewed five of the top weight loss programs available today. Choose the one you like because these programs will all do the trick and if you stick with them and follow their advice you too can have weight loss for the long term. Even though I have chosen one as the best of the best you might want to take a look at all of them and you make the choice that is right for you.

You need to know what ingredients to look for and what to avoid. You want something effective, but you also want something safe. Let’s cover safety, first.

The skin around the eyes is particularly sensitive, prone to allergic reactions, redness and irritation. Because the skin is so close in proximity to the eyes, you need to be particularly careful about what you use.

If there is a warning label on the anti wrinkle eye cream, then some of the ingredients are known allergens, probably parabens, which are popular preservatives. You should look for fragrance free, preservative free and avoid anything that contains petrolatum or paraffin wax.

You should avoid products meant for daily use that have an SPF rating. For sunburn protection, the safest choice is zinc oxide, but you should only use it when you expect to spend more than fifteen minutes in direct sunlight. To protect your eyes and the skin around them, you should wear sunglasses that provide UV protection.

There are a number of safe products that aren’t very effective. Here’s what you need for effectiveness.

An anti wrinkle eye cream should contain amino acid protein peptides, citrus bioflavonoids, palm oil, blue passion flower extract, Canadian algae extract, natural vitamin E, coenzyme Q10 and honey. That may sound like a lot of ingredients, but each one serves a specific purpose.

When combined, they reduce bags, dark circles and wrinkles. They increase the skin’s thickness and its elasticity. They also promote fluid circulation.

The fluid causes the bags. Waste products that build up in those fluids cause dark circles and smudges. Loss of elasticity causes wrinkles and sagging.

In clinical studies, those ingredients have proven to be the most effective. The inclusion of coenzyme Q10, natural vitamin E, the honey and many of the other ingredients has to do with their antioxidant activity.

What’s an antioxidant? Antioxidants destroy free radicals. What’s a free radical? That’s a little longer story.

Free radicals are primarily formed when your face is exposed to UV radiation from the sun. The antioxidants in our body rush to meet the free radicals and reduce them. The destruction of free radicals reduces the supply of antioxidants in our skin cells.

The first antioxidant to be depleted is coenzyme Q10. So, if you apply that antioxidant directly to your face, in the form of an anti wrinkle eye cream, you will have better protection from free radical damage.

Free radicals are responsible for those wrinkles that you see. Because coenzyme Q10 is such a powerful antioxidant, it can even undo damage that has already occurred. It takes a little time, but most people see results in less than a month.

If the right ingredients are included, you will see some immediate improvement. When properly formulated, the gel has the consistency of liquid skin. It fills in those crow’s feet and slightly refracts the light, so that they seem to have “disappeared”.

Now, you should be able to find safe and effective anti wrinkle eye cream. To get the best price, buy direct from the manufacturer.

Since high cholesterol can lead to heart disease, and at worst case death by heart attack, it is important to do all that you can to lower your cholesterol. In some cases, lowering your cholesterol can mean the difference between life and death.

Here are some tips for lowering cholesterol, as well as what heart disease symptoms you should be looking for.

If you are interested in naturally lowering cholesterol, it is important to keep in mind that a healthy lifestyle is key. Diet is one of the biggest factors that contributes to how high or low your cholesterol is. Decreasing the amount of trans fat, saturated fat and cholesterol that is in the foods that you eat will help lower your cholesterol.

What this means is you will want to eliminate or reduce the amount of fast food and junk food that you eat. Also reduce the amount of red meats and poultry that you eat. Instead, eat healthy fruits, vegetables and whole grains.

Exercise is also important when it comes to lowering cholesterol. Try to come up with a regular cardio exercise routine that you enjoy, whether it consists of aerobic dance or swimming or any one of dozens of fun exercise routines you can undertake.

Certain factors, such as your gender and age, may also contribute to your cholesterol. Finally, keep in mind that a medical condition or a medication that you may be on can also cause your cholesterol to be high.

The reason that high cholesterol can lead to heart disease is because it causes plaque to build up in the arteries, which blocks regular blood circulation. Some of the heart disease symptoms that you should watch out for include an irregular heartbeat, a shortness of breath, nausea, indigestion or heartburn, dizziness, sweating and pain or discomfort that affects the chest, arm, breastbone or back.

If you experience one or more of these heart disease symptoms, it is in your best interest to visit the doctor.

As you can see, there are some very basic steps that you can take to lower your cholesterol, such as eating healthier and exercising more. The most important thing is to listen to your doctor. If you have any existing medical conditions or medications, be sure to find out if they may be the cause of your high cholesterol. Lowering cholesterol is a very important key to reducing your risk of heart disease and should not be taken lightly.

And of course there are companies dedicated to finding natural and organic solutions to management of high cholesterol levels. If you are unable to succeed using those methods above, but are concerned about using drugs to lower your cholesterol levels then there are very good solutions you can find to manage your cholesterol, naturally.

They all have something special but how do you know which one’s the best?

Low GI. Heart Healthy. With added omega-3s, selenium or inulin pre-biotic fiber. These days a quick trip to the shops for bread and milk can turn into a three hour decision making exercise. There are so many different types of bread, each offering you the opportunity to obtain better health than the next. How do you choose? We help you make the most sensible choice for your next cheese and tomato sandwich.

The Low Down on Fortified Bread

In recent years, the nutrition savvy man has come to know that whole-wheat bread is better than brown bread, and brown bread is better than white bread, primarily because each type of bread has more fiber than the other. There are brands of bread that claim to offer as much fiber as whole-wheat bread, with all the taste of white bread. There are also breads bolstered with bird feed, fatty acids and other minerals that claim to do everything from stabilizing blood sugar to protecting against heart disease. It’s enough to make you want to eat salad instead. But what if you’re really hungry for a sarmie? Here’s what you need to know about what’s on the shelves to make your triple-decker sandwich dreams come true.

White, Brown or Whole-Wheat?

No matter what the advertising says, whole-wheat bread is still the best option. The white bread that says it has just as much fiber as brown bread is failing to make clear the distinction between the different types of fiber. There are two main types of dietary fiber – soluble and insoluble. The problem is, the white bread in question only contains added soluble fiber, but you need both because they serve different functions in the body.

Soluble fiber works primarily on a chemical basis, absorbing water in the gut to form a mushy, gel like consistency (much like grated apple) that maintains blood glucose levels and bonds with cholesterol in the intestine, so encouraging the fats to pass through your body rather than be absorbed into the blood stream.

Insoluble fiber works on a more mechanical level. Insoluble fiber consists of the indigestible bits – seed flakes, digestive bran and so on – that help to draw water into the intestine and literally act as an internal scourer, gently pushing food through to make sure your guts don’t get blocked up. Insoluble fiber is the stuff that keeps you a regular, happy guy.

That’s why whole-wheat remains the king of these breads. It has both soluble fiber, which comes from the wheat flour, and insoluble fiber, in the form of added wheat kernels. These kernels are what gives whole-wheat bread its rough looking texture.

The Fiber Debate

There are other types of functional fiber, too. Starch resistant fiber is also an insoluble fiber, with the added benefit of lowering the PH in the large intestine. These fibers break down to produce short-chain fatty acids, which act as food for pro-biotics, the good bacteria that keep your colon fighting fit. Inulin pre-biotic fiber also acts as food for these friendly microscopic bugs.

When it comes to the fiber in your bread, more is always better. The more fiber you have, and the more fiber you can count, the more healthy that bread is for you.
